How did we make it all the way through a deep discussion of “The Humpty Dance” and never bring up Jonathan Coulton’s close association with the other canonical party song of the early 90’s, “Baby Got Back”?
Like a park ranger nursing a baby bird back to full strength, Coulton’s version of the song finds and nurtures a plaintive soulfulness barely detectable in the original.
